e-Services@ONE.MOTORING
Need to carry out vehicle-related transactions? Simply visit e-Services@ONE.MOTORING. With e-Services@ONE.MOTORING, motor industry users, vehicle owners and members of the public will enjoy wider and more convenient access to the Land Transport Authority (LTA) services.
The development of e-Services@ONE.MOTORING started after the contract to enhance LTA’s 23-year-old vehicle registration and licensing (VRL) computer system was awarded to NCS Group in September 2002 to design, develop and supply the VRL system. Leveraging on Internet technology, the new enhanced system provides LTA’s customers with a wide range of one-stop, fully integrated services for vehicle-related enquiries and transactions. It currently has 34 enquiry services in total, compared to the seven online services available before the launch.
With e-Services@ONE.MOTORING, LTA enables motor dealers in Singapore to submit vehicle registration and transfer applications for their customers online anywhere, anytime. The system was developed to replace LTA's 23-year old vehicle registration and licensing computer system, which had to be upgraded as it was getting obsolete and increasingly expensive to operate and maintain.

24 x 7 Info-Security Surveillance Services (24x7 ISSS)
The Economic Development Board (EDB) subscribes to e-Cop's 24 x 7 Info-Security Surveillance Services (24x7 ISSS) to secure and protect its network-real time. As Singapore's leading agency responsible for planning and executing strategies to sustain Singapore's position as a compelling global hub for business and investment, having a robust and secure information system is crucial to EDB.
Since 2002, e-Cop has helped to secure EDB’s information system and network with e-Cop's award-winning 24 x7 Info-Security Surveillance Services (ISSS). e-Cop provides security monitoring for EDB's network at its headquarters to detect and protect against intrusions and malicious activities. In 2005, the service was extended to EDB’s six (6) overseas centers. Performed out of e-Cop's Global Command Center, 24x7 ISSS brings together a combination of e-Cop's revolutionary CESM technology, best of breed trained security professionals and a robust process based on industry best practice (ISO27001) to secure EDB's network-round the clock.
Outsourcing the protection of its critical security network has enabled EDB to focus on its key mission, whilst leaving its Info-Security requirements to the professional. Doing so has also reaped cost savings for the organisation in a win-win fashion and more importantly, to stay secure.

Professional Security Services
The Singapore Government Data Centre, which hosts the multiple government agencies servers and systems has entrusted e-Cop to continually check and access the security posture and integrity of its facility's network. Organised around a security process and methodology that conforms to the internationally recognised standards of Best Practice for Information Security i.e. ISO27001, e-Cop's highly trained and experienced security professionals are deployed to conduct its range of Professional Security Services to continually strengthen and enhance the security within the data-centre.
For a period of three years, e-Cop has performed a series of Security Audits and Operating System (OS) hardening to determine the health of the networks within the Data Centre and enhance its security posture. For example, security weaknesses in OS are identified before remedial actions are taken to apply the necessary hot fixes and updates on procedures and policies, hence mitigating attacks and system down time.
The successful implementation of e-Cop's Professional Security Services in this instance serves to enhance the standing of the Singapore Government Data Centre to one that is a Secured Government Data Centre.

Unified Wireless Network
Republic Polytechnic is the first institute of higher learning in Asia to deploy new wireless network technologies from Cisco Systems (“Cisco”) to enrich its students’ learning experience. Singapore Computer Systems Limited, designed, built and commissioned a wired and wireless network infrastructure for Republic Polytechnic’s new 20-hectare campus at Woodlands.
The Cisco Unified Wireless Network comprises a unified wired and wireless solution that cost-effectively addresses issues such as wireless local-area network (“WLAN”) security, deployment, management, and control issues. It combines the best elements of wireless and wired networking to deliver highly secure, scalable WLANs with a low total cost of ownership.
Facilitators (lecturers) continuously stay connected to a much larger student base than traditionally possible, giving immediate feedback to student queries. The high-speed wireless communication network enables students to learn and communicate anytime and anywhere within the campus. This mode of mobile learning totally changes the concept of desk-bound lessons and meetings.
Assessments and problems are all completed online, making the whole organisation practically paperless. This keeps administration minimal so that money and resources can be better deployed. The network is intelligent enough to activate a ‘quarantine’ mode that shuts off communication between test candidates and the Internet.

Knowledge Repository Information System (KRIS)
When the Urban Redevelopment Authority implemented the EDA (Electronic Development Application), a system enabling online processing of land use development application, they needed a highly reliable system to store these EDA generated documents. SQL View with its product “KRIS” (Knowledge Repository Information System), has been providing the agency with a secured document repository platform for the non-EDA generated documents.
At the onset of EDA implementation, URA awarded SQL View the task to integrate both non-EDA and EDA documents into a single repository aiming to aide users to search all its documents effortlessly from a central storage location. KRIS also enables seamless integration into Lotus Notes email and MS Office applications such as filing of emails, email attachments and other electronic documents.
Having a system which collates, disseminate and share all development control related documents in a central repository is a necessary factor for faster decision-making process and greater access to critical information needed in its judicious land use planning.

Visit Management System (VMS)
Singapore Computer Systems Limited (“SCS”) developed an integrated world-class Visit Management System (“VMS”) for Singapore Prison Service’s (“SPS”) Changi Prison Complex. This is the first fully automated and integrated web based system that handles all aspects of visits to the inmates, from notification and registration to managing the flow of visitors through the prison. It is part of SPS’ drive to centralise resources and facilities to streamline its operations and security.
SCS equipped the visitor turnstiles with integrated biometric authentication and installed video conferencing, queue management and PA/intercom sub-systems. The automated VMS application enables SPS to manage the registration of visitors, control and grant access to specified areas and allocate visit cubicles. Security is of paramount importance, and the registration of new visitors is performed through the capture of fingerprints and certifying documentation.
This is the first time that biometrics, using thumbprints, is being employed in a Singapore prison to manage visitations. Together with other applications, the system replaces manual processes with a high level of automation that gives SPS substantial efficiency gains and enables them to be more responsive and cost effective.

Integrated Case Management System (ICMS)
The Integrated Case Management System (ICMS) is a fully computerised social service system built by NovaCityNets for the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS). ICMS is a single integrated case management system for child and family protection and the management of juvenile delinquency replacing 10 disparate older systems.
With ICMS, Case Officers can access complete case-related information, for example client profile, referral reports and case histories, as well as share case information and documents across the 5 branches within RPD, thus allowing officers to have a holistic view of their clients’ profile.
A workflow-engine automates the management of cases starting from registration, scheduling of interviews, and report submission right up to case closure. With every step in the process captured in ICMS, tracking the progress of cases is a breeze.
Business Intelligence capabilities allow Management to assess the effectiveness of their programs, and tailor new programs and policies for the future.
Due to the confidentiality of client data, ICMS was implemented with stringent security controls to prevent access by unauthorised users.
