The international e-Government conference of the year, iGov Global Exchange is an open platform that brings together policy makers, implementers and developers to share experiences and best practices on the future e-Government model worldwide. It also showcases successful projects in building e-Government infrastructure and applications to better serve the needs of customers in the digital age. The theme for this event is “Integrating Public Services, Engaging Citizens” .

Blazing Ahead with Innovation - Singapore New Infocomm Champions Crowned


Fifteen companies were presented the National Infocomm Awards (NIA), the highest accolade for infocomm innovation in
Singapore, for making their mark in infocomm development and innovative adoption of infocomm technology. The Land Transport Authority clinched the winner’s title for the “Most Innovative Use of Infocomm Technology (Public Sector)” category, while the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore and the Ministry of Manpower each won merit awards.


Unique Entity Number Brings Convenience to Entities

From 1 January 2009, all entities that are registered in Singapore, such as businesses, local companies, limited liability partnerships (LLPs), societies, representative offices, healthcare institutions and trade unions, will have a Unique Entity Number (UEN) as its identification number. This shall be used for correspondence and interaction with government agencies.


IDA-Led Delegation To Showcase Singapore's ICT Capabilities At GITEX


The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) will be leading a delegation of
Singapore infocomm companies to GITEX Technology Week 2008, scheduled to take place from 19 to 23 October 2008 in Dubai, U.A.E.


Singapore's Next Generation National Broadband Network To Be Nationwide by 2012

By 2012, homes and offices nationwide will be connected to
Singapore’s ultra high-speed and pervasive Next Generation National Broadband Network (Next Gen NBN). In two years’ time, 60 per cent of homes and offices can already expect to have access to this new, pervasive, all-fibre network.

LTA trials next-generation e-payment system for public transit

 

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is conducting a trial of the next-generation e-payment system for public transit, called Symphony for e-Payment (SeP). Developed in-house by LTA, SeP is built on the Singapore Standard for Contactless ePurse Application (CEPAS), an interoperable micro-payment platform made possible through a joint collaboration by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA), LTA and the industry.
